Barbara Ann (Campbell) Fulk was born on May 20, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ruth Muriel (Johnson) Campbell and Robert Mitchell Campbell. She passed away peacefully in Glenview, Illinois on December 12, 2024. Barbara was hilarious, gregarious, particular, polite, big-hearted, clever and unique.

While she lived in many places throughout her life - East Coast to West Coast and in between, too - she most treasured raising her three children in Kailua, Hawaii. In Kailua, she found lifelong friends, fulfilling work, and peace by the ocean, with the mountains nearby. Barbara was extraordinarily dedicated to her children, and to their many sports and activities, actively volunteering for hands-on roles. Barb loved being a mom! She also appreciated a good time! Barb loved entertaining often and did so beautifully, enjoying every minute of it. She also enjoyed beaching, sailing, reading, gardens, all kinds of music (most especially John Denver), rabble rousing, and laughing. She had a quick wit to the very end!

Barbara, "Tutu" to her grands, landed near Chicago where she was able to spend precious time with her adult children and watch her grandchildren grow up. She lived near her eldest daughter Leslie (Dan) George and their children Emily, Molly and Lindsey of Northfield, Illinois. She was not too far away from her youngest daughter Libby (Mark) Rausch, and their children Carly and Connor of Plymouth, Minnesota. Barbara also spent a good deal of her time in the Chicago area with her son, Robbie, who died December 30, 2019.

When she left Massachusetts for college in Virginia, Barbara vowed never to return to cold New England, but part of her heart always remained in Maine where she spent summertime with her parents and her siblings: Robert (Amy) Campbell and Virginia Campbell (Bob Shober). She was so fond of her nephew and nieces: Jamie, Caitlin and Celia, and their families.

Barbara's family is enormously grateful to the incredibly caring and kind people at Arbor Terrace Glenview who tirelessly helped Barbara manage her last few years with grace and humor. They truly went above and beyond in their care! The compassionate team from Residential Hospice is also appreciated.

While Barb loved a good celebration, she did not want any "fuss" in her honor saying that quite a racket was made when the entire Kaimalino neighborhood in Kailua celebrated her 40th birthday with a parade! Her interment will be privately held in summertime in Maine with her family, near the sea and the mountains. If Barb has any say (and she will find a way) it will be on a warm sunny day, clear blue sky, and a light breeze off the ocean - her favorite.
