Carolyn Wozniak Peck

Vernon Hills, IL- We are very saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Auntie Carolyn who is now at peace. Carolyn was an early Christmas present to parents Theodore & Alice Wozniak, long time residents of Niles, IL. She was the 3 ^rd of 4 children and survived by sister, Catherine (Chris Derue) of Cary, brother Kurt (Rosanna Wozniak) of Chicago & deceased brother Richard Wozniak.

Carolyn loved her family & friends dearly and her huge heart was evident throughout her life as shown to her nieces & nephew and great nieces/nephews, Joseph & Amy Burley and their daughters Presley & Brielle of St. Charles, Renee (Nick Sjoblom) and their sons Tyler & Thomas of Crystal Lake, IL, Nicole (Phil Irvine) of Cary, IL & Michelle (David Bull) of Golden, CO, Alexis Wozniak of Arizona & Elizabeth Wozniak of Barrington, IL.

She was the feline mama to Watson, Sammie and Felix who she chose to rescue from a shelter in Chicago

Carolyn met and soon after married Roger Peck of Long Grove in October 2012. They enjoyed traveling with their many trips with cruises to exotic places, France and Disney World! She also enjoyed singing some of her favorite songs with her beautiful voice and always wanted to check with her loved ones if "the people were home". She is also survived by many cousins & dear friends in the area who will miss her beautiful smile and eyes that would sparkle!

Carolyn often spoke that this world was just our temporary home. Her faith reassured her there was a better place for us all. One that is free of pain and strife.

A picnic in her honor will be planned in the near future to celebrate her life. Interment will be private.

A ship at my side spreads her white
sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length
she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come
to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says;
"There, she is gone!" "Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull
and spar as she was when she left my side
and she is just as able to bear her
load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone
at my side says, "There, she is gone!"
There are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout;
"Here she comes!"
And that is dying."
