It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Erma (Peacock) Ellman on November 12, 2024. She was 97 years old.

She was a successful business woman, opening and managing a number of women's clothing stores in the Chicago suburbs.  In her free time, she enjoyed playing tennis, golf, painting with watercolors, bridge, poker and spending time with her children and grandchildren (not necessarily in that order).

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Karen Ellman McCormick, middle daughter Nancy Ellman, youngest daughter Mary (Warwick) Ellman Tripp, only son Robert Ellman, her beautiful grandchildren Patrick McCormick, Kristine (Ben) McCormick, Kevin (Kalie) McCormick, Elisabeth Tripp, David Tripp, Andrew Krause, and Bradley Krause, her great-grandson Brooks Calvert, and her sister Helen (Peacock) Pawlarczyk.

A memorial honoring Erma will be held on Dec 14 at 11:00 am in the James Room above the Kimble Center of Westminster Place at 3200 Grant St. East, Evanston, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made on behalf of our nation's veterans or assisting in the conservation of giraffes.
