Frances Warnken

It is with much sadness that the Warnken Family announces the death of Frances Warnken, age 100. Frances died peacefully at Addolorata Villa on May 9, 2023. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Frances who were proud Italian immigrants. She was the youngest of their four children and was lovingly called "Babe" by her family all through her life.  Frances and her late husband James married in 1944 at St. Viator Church. When James returned from the army, they bought a house in Chicago where they raised their large family. They shared more than 50 years of marriage together.

Frances and James both had a love of travel and visited almost all of the 50 states; mostly camping when they were younger. In their later years, they discovered the joy of cruises and visiting other countries. The family also spent many summers at their beloved cottage in Wisconsin. Frances welcomed everyone from extended family to friends of friends at the cottage and she was always ready with a delicious meal. Feeding people was one of Frances' greatest joys.

Frances later moved to Arlington Heights and was an active member of St. James Parish volunteering for the Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Funeral Luncheon Ministry. She cared greatly in helping people and did so as long as she could. She will be deeply missed by her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday June 19 at Addolorata Villa main Chapel, 555 McHenry Rd, Wheeling, IL 60090.
