Wheeling, Illinois – Iona R. Lewis passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at the age of 102.

Born on January 15, 1923, in Carroll County, Tennessee, Iona was the youngest of six children. She was raised in a loving and close-knit family, and throughout her long life, she exemplified kindness, humility, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to her Christian faith.

Soft-spoken and kind, Iona brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and deep devotion to her family touched the lives of many. Whether offering a kind word or a listening ear, she gave selflessly and loved unconditionally.

Iona is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary) Lewis and Joseph (Patricia) Lewis; her daughter-in-law, Karen Lewis; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clayton Lewis; her son, Jerry Lewis; and all five of her siblings.

Service Information
A private family burial will be held at 10:30 AM on June 30, 2025, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, Illinois.
