James H. Stubblefield, affectionately known as “Big Jim”, aged 90, passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2026.

Born on July 25th, 1935, Big Jim turned his passion for travel into a distinguished career spanning over 40 years at United Airlines, frequently exploring the world with his favorite destination being Sydney, Australia, which is where his ashes will be spread. Music was his other great love, and he shared that joy with many as an enthusiastic DJ after his retirement from the airline. Frequently being the resident DJ at long gone local hangout, Charlie's Angeles. Always providing energetic music and constantly closing his set with Donna Summers Last Dance. Known for his generous spirit, Jim also made many significant, lasting charitable contributions to numerous LGBTQ+ organizations throughout his lifetime. Jim’s greatest pride was his large loving family and community.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three life-long friends that he traveled with and experienced life, as well as many other relatives and friends. They all carry forward his legacy of kindness and adventure.

Jim lived unapologetically, loved deeply, and left the world a brighter place.
