Jean Roberta Meyer (Campbell)
June 6, 1950 - September 30, 2022
Jean Meyer passed peacefully from this Earth on Friday, September 30th after a year long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Jeff Meyer, her daughter and best friend Gigi Jabara (Renato Ponce), her grandchildren Bailey, Ethan and Tyler, her two great-grandchildren, Hadleigh and Addison, and her 3 remaining cats.
Jean was preceded in death by her her parents Edward "Joe" and June Campbell, her two older brothers, Jerry and Joe her first husband Chuck Jabara, and her son Eddie Jabara.
Jean was known for love of animals, especially cats, having 8 at her most "little old cat lady" like period.
She was an avid traveller with her husband, their adventures often landing them on Historic Route 66.
As a young girl, she fell in love with the music of The Beatles; starting a lifelong love of any music that stirred her soul. She passed on her love of music to her children, as a gift. She attended many concerts and musicals with Jeff and Gigi. She was also an avid reader.
Her wonderful sense of humor, childish smile, and warm personality made fast friends wherever she went. Whether you knew Jean for 10 years or 10 minutes, it was hard not to adore her.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jean at Nick's Pizza & Pub 856 Pyott Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Jean and Jeff's longtime Saturday night dinner spot. Contact Gigi or Jeff for details.
