Joan Wasielewski, 89 years young, peacefully transitioned from her earthly life to her place with God on Thursday, May 11th in her home with her daughter Donna and son-in-law Jerry at her side.  Joan had been under the loving care of her Suncrest Hospice Team for several months following her hospitalization for heart related matters.  She was thankful for the support of her friends and family throughout her life up to the time of her death.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward, father Walter, mother Annette and brother Wally (Ruth). She is survived by her sister Rosalie Haraburd, sister-in law Joan (Roger) Alsaker, her daughter Donna (Jerry O'Brien), grandsons Jeff (Kathryn), Kevin (Lauren) and Great Grandson Owen. Additionally she is survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces whom she loved very much.

Everybody who was blessed to know Joan would likely state that she lived up to the meaning of her name - God's Gracious Gift!  Joan was a kind, caring, woman of faith, who was concerned about others throughout her personal and professional life. Joan attended DePaul University where she attained a nursing degree and proceeded to serve as a nurse for more than five decades at hospitals including Weiss Memorial – Chicago and Humana/ St. Alexius - Hoffman Estates until she retired at the age of 77.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial on July 22 ^nd at Our Lady of the Wayside Church. Visitation will be at 10 am and the mass will begin at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Arlington Heights Nurses Club Lending Closet - where a Memorial Scholarship will be made in Joan's name.
