Judith Ethel Kast

November 19, 1946 - December 24, 2024

Judith "Judy" E. Kast, 78, of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, left us peacefully on December 24, surrounded by family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Judy will always be remembered for her warm and inviting personality, creativity, annual Christmas parties, and love of family and dogs.

Judy was born to Fred and Myrtle Marshall in Chicago, IL.  After graduating from Foreman High School, Judy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University.

Judy taught in the Elmwood Park (Elmwood Elementary) and Schaumburg (Campanelli, Hanover Highlands) school districts for over 20 years. Mid-career, she took a hiatus from full time work to raise her family, while continuing to teach preschool at the Elk Grove Village Park District and run the Prince of Peace Mother's Day Out program.  She retired in 2007, spending her leisure time traveling, playing Bunco and Mahjong, quilting, and dining with longtime friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert "Bob" and sister Janice "Jan" Vickery, Judy celebrated 50 years of marriage to Bob in 2022. She is survived by her three children, Erin (Dan Marx), Ryan (Meredith), and Megan; and grandchildren, Jacob and Emily.

Arrangements for a Celebration of Life are pending and will be announced privately.
