Linda J. Roesler, 79, of Lake Villa, IL, passed away on March 9, 2025.

Linda was born on December 7, 1945, in Chicago to Ruby and Edward Lewandowski. She grew up in the Norwood Park area and attended Taft High School, where she became friends with Jim Jacobs, the creator of the musical Grease. The character of Frenchie, the beauty school dropout, was inspired by Linda's own experiences. Linda often shared that each character in the play reflected aspects of her friends' personalities, and she was proud to have been a part of that creative legacy.

In her early years, Linda worked as a waitress at the Millionaires' Club in the late '60s and early '70s. She married William Roesler on March 15, 1975, and together they shared a love for travel and fishing trips. They spent many enjoyable years living on a small lake in Lindenhurst, where they created cherished memories until Bill's passing in 2023.

Linda is survived by her nieces and nephews: Laura Kellen Osterman (Gary), Sharon Kellen, Vince Kellen (Liz), Neil Kellen (Jane Andrews), Susan Kellen Wood (David), Michelle Kellen (Linda McCann), her great-nieces and great-nephews: Catherine, Craig, and Christopher Osterman; Heather and Brian Tsuffis; Claire and JR Kellen; Emily Wood; Beth Wood Poad; and Melissa Wood Bahr, as well as Claire and Hayley, daughters of her brother-in-law Harry (Marie).  Linda also leaves behind four great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews. She took immense pride in hearing about all their accomplishments and enjoyed celebrating their weddings and other important events.

Preceding her in death are her beloved husband, Bill; her parents, Edward and Ruby; and her sister, Barbara Kellen and John Kellen, who was her cherished brother-in-law.

Linda's legacy will be remembered through the many stories shared by those who knew her best. Whether it was making the Chicago Tribune for the time she got her thumb stuck in a bowling ball and it had to be "surgically" removed, her unforgettable sense of humor, her resilience in battling health challenges, or Bill's tales of her memorable "fights" at Walmart, Linda's fiery spirit will continue to live on through these stories. She was also known for her adventurous "cougar" outings with her sister Barbara, a bond that endured until Barbara's passing.

The family is deeply grateful to Linda's best friend, Hope, who was a constant presence in her life for over 50 years and stood by her side in her final months.
