Miguel Oscar Van Opstal, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 88 years old, after struggling with Alzheimer's, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
Miguel was born in Entre Rios, Argentina, on September 29, 1934. He was a man of integrity, study, creativity, resourcefulness, discipline, and ingenuity. He contagiously lived out the gospel through both word and action. His sacrificial love was unique and enduring. He found ways to pursue passions and provide for his family through his faith in Christ, engineering, gardening, cooking and automotive work.
Miguel married Olga Victoria Tello on May 11, 1968, and they had a thriving and committed marriage of over 54 years. Their love for one another, their extended family and community created a space of hospitality, refuge, and reconciliation.
Miguel Van Opstal is survived by his wife, Olga Victoria Van Opstal and His children: Erica (granddaughter Sofia); Sandra (husband Karl and grandchildren Justo and Terry); Alan (wife Beth and grandchildren Selma, Miguel, and Samuel) and Omar (wife Libby and grandchildren Evangelina and Gabriel)
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends in April.

Miguel nació en Entre Ríos, Argentina, el 29 de septiembre de 1934. Era un hombre íntegro, estudioso, creativo, inventiva, ingenioso, disciplinado e ingenioso. Vivió el evangelio de manera contagiosa a través de la palabra y la acción. Su amor sacrificado fue único y duradero.
