Nathan Lee, born 9-11-65, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on 3-14-2019.  He was 53 years old.  He gave it a heroic fight, enduring chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, maintenance chemo, and immunotherapy trials.

He leaves behind his wife, Jolene (Haefs), children: Evan (age 21), Andre (age 18), Lauren (age 16), Lucy (age 14), Oliver (age 12), and Isaac (age 10).

From his family of origin, he is survived by his mother, Patricia, sisters~Erin (Susan), Tina, and Maria and brothers~Jon (Amy) and Tim.

He is also survived by his hanai family of Gary and Sheila Cadwallader and their children, Eric, Shawn (best friend) and Kara.

Other survivors include his in-laws, Harley and Carol Haefs, brother-in-law, Brian (Julie), sisters-in-law-Amy (Greg) and Tammy, and many nieces and nephews: Nick, Travis, Ashley, Spencer, Kristen, Marissa, Joli, Claire and Ava.

Nate also treasured his beloved aunties, uncles and cousins who showed him much support throughout his battle with cancer.  He was also very touched by the outpouring of support from so many friends, from near and far, from the area schools and from the community of Lake Villa.  Family pet cats, Fez and Lily, and Newfypoo puppies, Max and Lola, will also grieve his passing.

Nate grew up on the island of Oahu until grade 5 and after that on the Big Island of Hawaii.  He attended H.P.A. (Hawaii Preparatory Academy) in Waimea.  After high school, he went to the University of Hawaii-Manoa for 2 years and then transferred to the University of WI-Madison  where he earned a degree in Political Science.  He met his wife, Jolene, in an Art class at UW.  He moved to IL and began his career as a runner on the floor of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange (Banque Indosuez Carr Futures), working his way up to Equities Vice President at Goldman Sachs.  He earned his M.B.A. and was committed to supporting clients with software trading needs.  Through mergers and buy-outs he worked for Spear-Leeds and Kellogg, Goldman Sachs, Redi-Plus, Thomson Reuters, Black Stone and most recently Refinitive.  He touched many through his dedicated career.

His passion for his children, political science, cooking, fishing, art, travel, technology, and motorcycles/cars kept him busy.  He prepared meals for his family and guests and could be seen by a lake, river or ocean with a fishing pole in hand.  With his angel wings, we hope he finds good fishing, cooking and motorcycle paths in heaven.  He will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled to be held at the Chapel in Grayslake, IL, on Tuesday, March 19th, at 6:45 pm.
