Neil James
Heyer
d. May 22, 2025
Neil James Heyer
April 1, 1963 - May 22, 2025
In loving memory of our very special brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Neil J. Heyer, 62, passed away peacefully early on May 22, 2025. Born on April 1, 1963, to Kenneth and Virginia Heyer in Chicago, Illinois.
Brother to Lynn M. Alwine, and Eileen A. Blahnik.
Neil lived in Norridge for much of his life until his parents passed away. He then moved closer to his sisters.
Neil will be remembered as an avid Chicago sports fan. He was unique in the fact that he cheered on BOTH the Cubs and White Sox! He just loved all of his Sports hats–from the Cubs and White Sox, to the Bulls, Blackhawks, and the Chicago Bears.
One of Neil's favorite things to do was to listen to corny jokes, and try to guess the answer. He also liked music, from Elvis Presley, to patriotic songs to church hymns. Neil would get upset if you didn't play/sing each and every stanza of the song!! He would record the countdown of all the top hits of the year every New Years Eve, along with a pizza.
Neil had respect for our country, the American flag, and appreciated the privilege of voting.
Neil will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Visitation will be on Sat. July 26th at 1:30, followed by a Memorial Service at 3pm.
