Norman von Hollen, 57, passed away on August 31, 2022, from unexpected heart issues. His generous heart was a beacon of light and love to all who met him; Norm's antics and character were legendary. Everyone who knew him always had their own classic "Norm" stories to tell.

Born and raised in Emerson, NJ, Norman was well-known around town and loved by many from the local car wash where he worked for years to his famous corner chair at the Emerson Hotel. Later, he moved to Chicago for new work experiences and continued to live a rich, fulfilling life that included everything from owning businesses in the local community to hanging out at his favorite bars to watch sports. Known by many as "Norm, Normie, or Stormin' Norman," he developed close friendships that became his second family over the years.  Despite his rough and rugged silent exterior, he had a loving heart and was extremely giving and helpful to many who were lucky enough to cross paths with him.

His love for all sports was second to none as an all-time dedicated fan of the NY Rangers, NY Mets, and NASCAR. He loved going to sporting events, watching NASCAR and horse racing, exploring casinos, and simply hanging out with his friends while enjoying a shot of Rumple Minze.

Although distance separated him from his nephews and niece in NJ, he was proud of them and always around for family moments in Michigan at Mom & Dad's house and enjoying family times such as an Alaskan cruise and numerous trips to Germany.

He is survived by his loving mother Rosi von Hollen; his brother Dirk (Robin) and their children Kyle, Rachel, and Erik; sister Melissa (Ron). Along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles in the US and Germany. He is preceded by his father, John von Hollen (April 2022).

Because Norman celebrated life, per his request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. He will be laid to rest in Michigan next to his father.
