Peg Martinek, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Barrington, Illinois.

She was born and raised in Clinton, IL with her 5 brothers and sisters and many beloved pets.  Her mother, Marguerite, and father Maurice (Ray) Banks instilled in her a deep love of the Catholic faith.

Peg saw the beauty of God in all of creation.  Sheopened her heart to anyone in need and always chose forgiveness over judgement.  Her family meant everything to her, and if you are reading this, know that she considered you to be her family too.

She is preceded in death by her parents Maurice (Ray) and Marguerite Banks; her sisters Rita Rolando(Carl), Alice Randall (Stan), and Mary Anne Banks; brothers Maurice Banks (Sue), and Tom Banks(Maxine); her infant son Raymond Martinek; her ex-husband and friend, Clarence Martinek; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and pets(her furry, feathery, and scaley extended family).

Family and friends are invited to attend either or bothservices on Tuesday, December 12th beginning with the Visitation at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. These services will be held at Holy Family Parish in Inverness.  A luncheon will follow at Billy's Pancake House in Palatine.  Private inurnment.

Peg sincerely requested that masses be offered for her.
