It is with great sorrow that we announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle has passed away.

Robert "Bob" John Kast, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2023. Bob was born to John and Elizabeth Kast in Louisville, KY.  After graduating from Elmwood Park Community High School in 1962, he obtained a B.S. in chemistry from Parsons College (Fairfield, IA) in 1967, and a M.A. degree in school counseling from Northeastern Illinois University in 1976.

Bob was a teacher and counselor for the Chicago Public School System for over 34 years, retiring in 2005. He was a proud Eagle Scout, Scoutmaster, Indy 500 enthusiast, genealogy guru, and a die-hard Chicago sports fan.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; brother, Bill; three children, Erin (Dan Marx), Ryan (Meredith), and Megan; and grandchildren, Jacob and Emily.

Arrangements for a Celebration of Life are pending and will be announced privately.
