Robert (Bob) T. O'Donnell, age 87, long-time resident of Lincolnshire, passed away on March 16, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Leta for 61 years. Loving father of Stephen and Kelly (Tony), step-grandfather of Tony and Aina and, of course, his grand dogs Nela and Jessy, who will miss taking naps with him. Bob was an amazing athlete, getting a full-ride scholarship to Loyola University in New Orleans to play basketball. He continued playing basketball after college for the Syracuse Nationals and enjoyed playing in social leagues until he was 45. Then Bob decided to start playing tennis. He had never picked up a racket in his life and went on to win MANY tournaments - in singles and doubles - and represented the State of Illinois in national tennis championships around the country. Bob's degree in Biology and Chemistry helped him launch his own pharmaceutical company which he named Leta Labs, after the love of his life.

He was very social and always made us all laugh. Bob was a good man with a big heart and he will be remembered by all those who were lucky enough to know him. He was proud of his Irish heritage and we are sure that heaven was singing Irish songs this year on St. Patrick's Day, welcoming Bob O'Donnell.

Due to covid, a memorial mass with friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude's Children's hospital, which was Bob's favorite charity.
