Rosa Alejandra Sanchez, aged 74, from Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on December 12th, 2023. Born on April 18th, 1949, in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, she was the daughter of Manuel Martinez and Esthela Leyva.

In 1962, Rosa moved to Chicago with her mother and sisters. It was in this vibrant city where she started her journey that led to a serendipitous meeting with John Sanchez through mutual friends. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a deep, enduring love, and he soon became her beloved husband. Together, they raised three children, with Rosa embracing her role as a homemaker with unparalleled dedication. Later in life, her devotion extended to her grandchildren, with whom she shared not just her time but also her boundless love, becoming a remarkable grandmother.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Rosa found joy in life's simple pleasures. Her mornings began with coffee, followed by the challenge of puzzles and the intrigue of mystery novels. Known for her savvy use of coupons, her practicality was matched only by her kindness. Rosa's love for old Mexican music brought a special twinkle to her eye, as her feet tapped in time with the rhythm. This love was more than just a fondness for tunes; it was a deep connection to her heritage, a bridge to her own history, and a joy that she passed down as a precious family heirloom.

Rosa leaves behind her children, Sonia, Sergio (Gloria), and Alejandra; grandchildren, Joel (Mary), Daisy, Kairo, and Matthew; and her great-grandchild, John. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sanchez, and sisters, Enedina, Marilu, and Martha.
