Sandra M
Taggart
Jan 4, 1951 — May 6, 2023
Chicago
Sandra Taggart, loving sister of Rose Tomaras (nee Serdenis), Wesley (Alice), George, Mick (Lisa), Marsha Alvarez (late Carlos Alvarez) and Patricia. Loving aunt and great aunt to many. Preceded in death by her parents Morris J Taggart/Helen B Taggart (Serdenis). Longtime companion of Robert Mah.
Sandra graduated with her bachelor's degree from Loyola University, and received her master's degree from Northwestern University, and her 2nd master's degree from Dominican University; and had been pursuing her PhD.
Sandra loved books and was an avid reader, but also loved her movies. Sandra had an extensive collection of both books and movies. She loved her fancy cars, jewelry and her Waterford Christmas Ornaments and doted on her pets. One of Sandra's favorite pastimes was watching movies from the comfort of home; whether it was musicals, or sci fi; she loved them all. Sandra was also a huge fan of the Rolling Stones and saw them perform almost every time they came to Chicago; with her first concert in 1969. She enjoyed cooking and creating meals from new recipes or barbequing in summer.
Sandra also loved Opera and had season tickets to The Lyric Opera house where her sister Rose, and eldest niece Laura often joined her.
Sandra will be missed by all. Services will be private/family only. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Chicago Canine Rescue, Chicago, Il. Sandra adopted her last dog from there, and often donated, and shared time with volunteer services.
