Obituary

Stanley Carl Weiss, age 94, of Highland Park, Illinois passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 with his wife Fern by his side.   Stan was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Belle Weiss and attended South Shore High School.  After graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1951 with a degree in business administration, he returned to Chicago.  He ascended the ranks of Englewood Electric Supply Company and eventually became president and chief executive officer.  Recognized as a leader in the electrical supply industry, Stan was named president of the National Association of Electrical Distributors in 1993.   He was a devoted husband to Fern (Dellheim) Weiss, a loving father to Sharon (Maluth) and Lisa (Forbess), and a doting grandfather to Sam, Maddy, Hannah, and Caroline, who affectionately knew him as Papa.  He was committed to his charitable work with the Better Boys Foundation and the Jewish Community Center of Chicago and to his role as treasurer of Twin Orchard and Tamarisk Country Clubs.  Stan was an avid golfer and sports fan, forever devoted to his beloved White Sox, Bulls, and Bears.  His legacy and love will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Stan's caregivers, Carey and Lash, who provided wonderful, compassionate care.

A private family funeral service will be held at Temple Jeremiah in Northfield, Illinois.
