Suzanne F. Stark (nee Fernholz), 87, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Friday, March 15, 2024 of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Garfield Park in Chicago to parents Ada Mary (nee Dennis) and William Stanford Fernholz on January 14, 1937.

Suzanne graduated Oak Park/River Forest High School and went on to attend Oberlin College in Ohio where she majored in Government. She loved learning and her years at Oberlin were some of her best.  After graduating from college, she settled into a domestic life with her husband, Robert Carney, and gave birth to a daughter, Kimberley.  She enjoyed being a mom and taking care of her family.  She also worked at Kraft Foods and then at Haz-Stor and she became a realtor.  She loved books, houses, and spending her early years at her mother's family cottage in Waupaca, WI.  After her first marriage ended, she met and married her neighbor, William F. Stark.  They had a wonderful marriage until he passed in 1997.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim, her stepson Glenn (Kindra) Stark, their children Amanda (Chris) Burton and Dr. Tim (Laura) Stark and by her sisters Denyse (Don) Kurucz, Jill (Ernie) Graetz, Edna (Jim) Howell and by her brother William (Kathy) Oelhafen. Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Stark. Per Suzanne's wishes there will be no funeral service. Her daughter appreciates everyone's condolences and prayers. "This is not goodbye. This is until we meet again! Love you always."
